Editorial policy

Honest Home Journal aims to be accurate, clear about uncertainty and independent in its editorial choices. Our articles explain general concepts and everyday planning; they do not replace advice from a qualified professional who can assess an individual property or situation.

Accuracy and context

We check claims against relevant source material before publication and take care to distinguish established information from interpretation. We avoid unsupported specifics and make clear when a topic varies by place, property or circumstance. Readers should not treat a general explanation as an inspection or a professional assessment.

Independence and partnerships

Editorial decisions are made separately from commercial arrangements. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is labelled clearly where it appears. A partnership or placement does not determine our editorial conclusions, and we do not present promotional copy as independent editorial work.

Corrections

If a reader identifies a factual error or important omission, we review the point and amend published material when warranted. Significant corrections are identified in the relevant article so readers can see what changed; we do not silently leave a known material error in place.

Illustrations

Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Illustrations are visual aids, not evidence of a particular property, document or event, and we aim to label them where they appear.
